About UsBill Romanis established Rural Projects in 1998. Under his management the business rapidly expanded and since then has proved capable of delivering small exhibitions for only a few hundred people through to national events attracting hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors. At Rural Projects we are committed to constantly improving the service we offer, developing the events we are responsible for and seeking new innovations and opportunities. The Rural Projects TeamMartin Dare, Managing DirectorMartin joined Rural Projects in 2000 with a background in Human Resource Management. His HR career was primarily focused on employee recognition schemes involving a strong organisational role and so a move to the events industry was a logical progression. Initially brought in to develop the systems and processes deployed by Rural Projects he became Managing Director in 2007 when Bill Romanis retired from the Business. Martin has overall responsibility for each of Rural Projects’ events.
Louisa Romao, Events Development ManagerLouisa joined the team in 2006 having graduated from Heriot-Watt University with a degree in Management with Business Law. Louisa is involved with all aspects of Rural Projects’ portfolio of events but has particular responsibility for the marketing and promotion of Gardening Scotland.
Charlotte Morgan, Events Co-ordinatorCharlotte is our newest recruit, joining the business in February 2009. Charlotte graduated in 2008 with a Business Management and Marketing Degree. Prior to joining Rural Projects she gained experience working on agricultural events south of the border. Charlotte is involved in all aspects of the administration of Rural Projects and it’s events. She can be contacted about invoicing or accounts queries.
John MacInnes, AgriScot Trade Stand ManagerJohn worked with Rural Projects as a full time member of the team between 2001 and 2006. John then returned to manage the family farm on Iona and now works as a consultant on a part time basis. John is the AgriScot Trade Stand Manager and can help with any enquiries relating to the event.
Jim Jermyn, Horticultural ConsultantJim has had a long career in the horticultural industry and as well as being a world-renowned Alpine expert he has also operated a successful nursery exhibiting at the very highest level. Jim has been involved with Gardening Scotland since its inception and continues to be responsible for all matters relating to horticulture at Gardening Scotland and Ayr Flower Show.
Alison Jermyn, Gardening Scotland & Ayr Flower Show Trade Stand ManagerAlison has a strong business background. Like her husband Jim, she also been involved with Gardening Scotland from the outset and has proved herself adept at accommodating exhibitors’ requirements at both Gardening Scotland and Ayr Flower Show. Any enquiries relating to exhibiting at Scotland’s premiere horticultural events should be directed to Alison.
