Until recently Rural Projects had a management role in the organisation of Ayr Flower Show.

Rural Projects organised the commercial trade stands at the event, arranged the show infrastructure and was responsible for the management of Health and Safety issues.

Held in the beautiful setting of Rozelle Estate, Monument Road with its feature trees, ponds and woodland walks and the glorious Rozelle Mansion House and Galleries, the event drew thousands of visitors from all over Scotland and beyond.

“An event of horticultural excellence” according to one eminent horticulturist, it brings together exhibitors who contest classes for blooms, pot plants, vegetables, fruit, honey, floral art and hand crafts, plus a Children’s Flower Show.

This spectacular venue was only a few minutes walk from the world famous Burn’s Cottage in Alloway where Robert Burns, Scotland’s greatest poet was born.

Sadly a decision was made by the Ayrshire Horticultural Society in February 2017 that the show should be discontinued.  More information is available here.

We provide the following services to the event…

Trade Stand Management

It is not just the number; it is also the quality of trade stands that make an event successful for visitors and for exhibitors themselves. Offering a professional service for exhibitors is critical. That service includes sales but detailed planning must go into the production of the event to determine the layout, the charges, the options, the services, the anticipated visitor numbers and the allocation of space

Event Planning Operations

Before any event can take place an appropriate license has to be applied for through the local authority and this can mean a major input at a very early stage in the event’s development. A thorough knowledge of what is required is essential in establishing a good working relationship with the local authority, and that again is where Rural Projects experience plays a vital role. Even in the final stages close liaison with local officials may determine whether the doors for an event open.

Health and Safety Management

Risk Assessment, Event Profiling and management of Health and Safety for events has become increasingly important. Rural Projects has amassed considerable experience in this discipline and can develop and produce an Event Manual that provides the information required by exhibitors, contractors, Health and Safety and Local Authority officials including the police and fire services.

Site Planning

Whatever the show site, be it indoors, at a dedicated venue or green field an accurate drawing of the layout is vital to the success of the event and that’s where Rural Projects’ command of CADsoftware comes into play. Accurate to the finest detail in the hands of an experienced and fully trained operator the plans produced are the foundation for the contractors to create the infrastructure and to deliver a successful layout for exhibitors and visitors.

Infrastructure and Managing Contractors

Every event is dependent on reliable and cost effective contractors to create the event infrastructure and over the years Rural Projects has developed relationships with specialist contractors who we know will deliver quality, and on time. They are not always the cheapest but they do allow the event management team to sleep soundly at night in the knowledge that what has been contracted will be delivered whatever the circumstances.

Event Catering

There is an endless stream of caterers willing to become involved in events but identifying  those that are qualified or experienced to satisfy the needs of a professionally organised event can be a challenge. Rural Projects has gone out of its way to develop a portfolio of caterers able to supply a variety of services from the most discerning to the fastest food imaginable with all contributing to the financial success of the event.
